Extended Board

In addition to the statutory board, an extended circle of members is regularly active in the BDH. This makes it possible to provide a diverse range of services and also to realise more extensive events.

Romann Glowacki graduated in 2006. At the German Biomass Research Centre, he analyses model regions for the bioeconomy. The aim is to optimally design structural change processes, for example in lignite mining areas. In addition, as managing director of PIC – Pi Innovation Culture GmbH, he supports companies in technology-driven business field development in the bio-based economy.

Oliver Jancke graduated as a wood economist in 2007 and received his doctorate in 2012. He works as Business Development Manager at InnovaWood in Brussels. His expertise lies in the areas of international cooperation, education management, e-learning and didactics, wood properties, value chain analysis and business development.

Arne Fey graduated with a Master’s degree in Holzwirtschaft in 2021. He is 37 years old and has ten years of professional experience as a cameraman and editor.

Moritz Leschinsky graduated in wood chemistry in 2006 and then worked at Lenzing AG as part of his doctorate. He has been working at the chemical site in Leuna since 2010. There, he initially conducted research on biorefinery processes at Fraunhofer CBP and has been involved in the construction of an industrial biorefinery for UPM Biochemicals since 2018.

Volker Paasch graduated 2005 as a Diplom-Holzwirt. He first worked as a freelancer for Voith Paper in wood chemistry, then at the Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) in Heidenau. He then returned to Voith Paper, where he worked in Ravensburg first in R&D and later in international sales for stock preparation systems. In 2012, Volker took the step into self-employment and, together with his wife, succeeded Pflug GmbH, where he works as managing director.

Christian Lehringer, who was born in 2007 and holds a doctorate in wood science, grew up in Schleswig-Holstein but has lived and worked in Switzerland for thirteen years. He is Chief Product Officer at the start-up Swiss Wood Solutions since the beginning of 2021. Before that, Christian worked in a leading position in the glue division of Henkel.

Uli Hilbers holds a doctorate in wood economics and lives and works in Brazil. There he built up the South American branch for the plant manufacturer Grecon, which he now manages. Before that, Uli was intensively involved with measuring methods in the wood-based materials industry. He speaks fluent Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Tobias Heizmann graduated with a Master’s degree in wood economics in 2018. He lives in Hamburg and is a project manager at Veolia Umweltservice Nord GmbH.
